RESPONSIBILITIES
As an employer or a person in control of a premises, you are legally responsible for health and safety and need to take the right precautions to reduce the risks of exposure to legionella. This includes making sure that you have carried out a sufficient Legionella Risk Assessment, implement all the continuous necessary control measures required for your water system (continuous monitoring and maintenance), act upon the actions/recommendations detailed in a legionella risk assessment (which may require remedial works), carry out water sampling (where necessary). All monitoring and control actions should be recorded within a site log book, the responsible people should undertake a form of training in the control of legionella bacteria.
